Understanding IMDS
What is IMDS and
why does it matter?

The International Material Data System (IMDS) is the worldwide automotive industry's material data system. All materials used in vehicle manufacturing must be documented and disclosed through IMDS to comply with global environmental regulations including the EU End-of-Life Vehicle (ELV) Directive.

As a Tier 1 and Tier 2 material supplier, Advanced Composites México submits IMDS data for all our compound grades so our customers can fulfill their OEM reporting obligations efficiently.

EU ELV Directive Compliance
IMDS is required for compliance with the EU End-of-Life Vehicle Directive — all substances and materials in vehicles must be tracked and disclosed.
IATF 16949 Requirement
IMDS submission is part of the PPAP process and is required by major OEMs including GM, Ford, Stellantis, Toyota, and all transplant manufacturers.
Material Transparency
IMDS documents the complete material composition of each compound — including all substances, concentrations, and any restricted materials subject to GADSL regulations.
ACP Mexicana Supplier Node
Use your Customer IMDS ID to request data. ACP México will send the IMDS module directly to your node for acceptance and forwarding to your OEM customer.
